We are Alexanders Vault Antiques. If you have been looking for a griffin set – or a one of a kind parlor set – then look no further. This one in particular is extremely rare. I have never seen this model before, which makes me believe it is one of one. The attribution is difficult to say for certain. My experience leads me to believe it is Karpen. Overall it is in very good condition with scattered wear. The arm chair is huge and extremely comfortable. The sofa would benefit having some back pillows made. Appears to have been reupholstered in velvet at least 15 to 20 years ago, the fabric is still in beautiful condition. This set is better in person! Its rarity and quality is second to none. As collectors we get tired of seeing the same old sets pop up. I have never seen this model before. It is Extremely rare. Its One to own! I dont believe its Horner, The form appears to be closer to Karpen. Its so different that an attribution is a bit difficult. Overall in very good condition with scattered wear. Arm chair is huge and extremely comfortable. Sofa would benefit having some back pillows made. Appears to have been reupholstered at least 15 to 20 years ago. This set is better in person. This Early 20th Century Settee is a great conversation piece and has nice bones. It’s completely crafted of mahogany with a drastic veneered finish. The large Griffin side carvings are absolutely stunning. The settee is structurally sound and and comfortably seats three. You will find wear throughout including chipped areas of veneer on the sides, this will either have to be repaired or filled in. The upholstery is a olive shade suede which shows major discoloration with missing and loose buttons. There’s no holes or rips in the upholstery, although we’d recommend having the piece reupholstered. The paw feet are drastic and in good condition, none are loose. The finished back is in good condition from not being exposed throughout the years. This would make a great project piece!
