Please read entire description. This is a vintage art deco/american streamline/machine age tan/caramel/brown vinyl & chrome tubular 2 seater sofa/settee. This piece has a continuous arm, leg, and backrest with the back leg extending deep. The curved arms give it a graceful look, typical of streamlined modernism. The arms are wood with a black lacquer paint finish. Amazing piece of industrial designed furniture that looks like it’s straight out of a time capsule. The cushions are original and double bated. See the 2nd to last photo for a peek inside the cushion construction – they do not make quality cushions like this anymore. All metal construction with exposed metal parts in Royalchrome quality plating. Cushions covered in Super-Tuftex leatherette which is a coated vinyl plastic that is fire resistant and will not crack, peel or bubble under normal use (quoted information was taken from an original Royalchrome paper advertisement). This advertisement is in the last photo. This chair does not have a label, but based on my research and the other furniture from the lot this came from, I believe it is Royalchrome manufactured by Royal Metal Manufacturing and possibly designed by Wolfgang Hoffmann Circa 1930′s-1950′s. This style has been referred to as Art Deco, American Streamline, Machine Age, Industrial, and Mid Century Modern. This sofa is very comfortable, the armrests sit at a great height for comfortable lounging. This would be an amazing vintage addition to anyone’s home, library or office and no doubt a great talking piece. The sofa has been stored in a room that has been unused for the past 20+ years at a local church. 50% of the proceeds from this sale will go back to the church to benefit the local community. The chair’s chrome frame is in good condition, has been cleaned and shined up, some minor scratches. The armrests are also in good condition, there are spots where the black paint has been worn off. This could be an easy fix. The cushions are original. They have been cleaned up as well, possibly they could be further cleaned. They have some discoloration and denting. There is a small tear in the top of the right side seat cushion. The cushions are still firm and comfortable. Please view all photos and zoom in as they are part of the condition description. Frame: 46″W x 23″D x 26″T (35″D in total). Armrest to armrest: 47.5W. Armrest height: 22.5T. 10 up from floor to upper seat frame. 29.5 up from floor to top of frame. Cushions: 25″D x 20.5″W x 7T.
