We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian sofa that has been reupholstered in the last few years in a beautiful and expensive fabric. The fabric is an antique beige background with colorful floral designs and raised brocade leaves. The sofa dates from the 1880s era. The overall condition is real nice being tight and sturdy. This sofa will arrive ready to use for years to come. The finish is the original dark walnut stain finish. The hand carved center crest and the whole back is twisted molded that would remind you of a thick rope. The couch has cabriole legs, carved knuckle arms, serpentine front with a center medallion raised crest in the bottom of the trim. The overall size is approximately 70 inches at the widest part, 60 inches on the inside of the arms, 29 inches deep, 40 inches high, 24 inches high on the arms and 17 inches high to the seat. 17329 Victorian Rope Carved Unusual Sofa. Empire Antique 1830 Sofa, Rope Carved Mahogany, Recent Gray Velvet #29010. An authentic Empire period sofa from about 1830 was hand carved of solid mahogany with a rope or barley twist design. Recent upholstery is silky soft velvet, and includes matching bolsters. There are minor scuffs and spots that are difficult to see on the “changeable” velvet. The old finish is in very fine condition on this American made antique furniture. Cast solid brass wheels and paw feet are original. The frame is tight and strong, springs are comfortable. One rear leg is angled as shown, but very secure. Measurements are 87″ long, 25″ deep, 35″ tall and the seat is 19″ high. Please view 22 photos at full screen size for best detail.
