Mid Century’s Brazilian minimalist Percival Lafer’s infamous MP-211 Sofa & Lounger. All original with tags. Sofa is in very good vintage condition. Leather shows creasing commensurate with age but is not dried up / cracking. I beleive the legs are brazillian rosewood. They have held up nicely with just some evidence of wear / dryness at the very bottoms (bottom inch – most likely from floor cleaning over the years). Overall I’d say this pair has survived beautifully and are ready for a new home. Hard to find this set in the Los Angeles area. Lafer’s work definitely has room to explode in value. Measures 30″ tall by 36″ depth. Sofa is 7 ft long and Chair is 32 wide. Item can be seen in person at Urban Americana in Long Beach, CA. Open every day 10-6. Offers welcome through Urban. I have a beautiful vintage midcentury modern leather sofa by Brazilian modernist Percival Lafer, designed in 1965 and made in Brazil. Beautiful detail, so comfortable and solid… Brazilian rosewood frame construction with leather straps and beautiful, unique details throughout. The piece is in good condition. It doesn’t look “beaten up, ” but it’s not perfection, if you’re looking for that. From a few feet away you wouldn’t notice the flaws. Just a few things to note: that there is some light cracking to the leather, and two of the back straps have fallen down due to dryness but this can be repaired if you want to show off the back (which is just as beautiful as the front) or it’s not really noticeable if the back is against a wall. There is a tiny bit of pen on the leather from my 3-year-old which I don’t normally notice unless I look for it; I’m sure it can be cleaned. Happy to send more detailed photos. This is a 3 piece sofa and pair of club chairs designed by Percival Lafer and made in Brazil. The frames are solid rosewood and the cushions are a gorgeous brown suede. The set is in very good, all original, condition. The suede is remarkably clean and has good nap. There is a slight tear in the front of one chair. That is easy to fix if you wish. The set is extremely comfortable and stylish. Notice the taper of the chairs from back to front. There are Lafer Brazil labels present on some pcs. Comfy and sleek two-seat leather sofa designed by Percival Lafer in Sao Paolo, Brazil in 1975. Single leather’sling’ seat fits into the molded resin frame and is supported by steel enforced jacaranda posts. Round rosewood beads and leather ties re-enforce the seat to the posts and add a nice decorative element. Leather has been conditioned and is in nice vintage condition with only minor wear. Missing one button from the inner tuft on the left side (hardly noticeable). Great condition for its age, with some minor wear to the vinyl and wood.
