It is our pleasure to present this Beautiful Victorian Rococo Laminated Rosewood J & JW Meeks full 9 pcs Stanton Hall Parlor Set. This set is so named after the namesake set at THE STANTON HALL MANSION in Natchez, Mississippi. This Fabulous Meeks Stanton Hall patten parlor set consists of a fine Sofa, a pair of wonderful armchairs, an attractive set of 4 side chairs, and a rare pair of accent chairs. This outstanding 9 pcs parlor set is presented in professionally restored and recently upholstered condition. The Armchair, Side Chairs, and Slipper Chairs feature laminated rosewood backs while the Sofa has material on the reverse side. Features include floral carved cartouches amidst open scrolling, reticulated foliate and grape carvings, serpentine seats, cabriole legs, and all raised on casters. Like Meeks Stanton Hall pieces can be found in the Reference book, Furniture of the 19th Century by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 99, 100, 112, and 118. LUXURIOUS VICTORIAN J H BELTER FOUNTAIN ELMS. LAMINTATED ROEWOOD PARLOR SET. Attributed to John Henry Belter with confidence and references. Amazing attention to detail, Belter’s finest carvers exhibited all their skills while crafting this fine pattern known as the Fountain Elms. The large sofa displays a pierce carved crest rail surmounted by three magnificent crests of Spring Flowers and delicately carve Rose Buds with a single cluster of grapes on each side. The finely carved Rose Buds can also be found on the knee and the center of the amazing seat rail cluster of flowers and fruits. The chairs exhibit the same fine carvings with a floral cluster above a pierce carved border displaying finely carved acorns and leaves. Each crest cluster of flowers displays a single cluster of grapes on each side and the seat rails displays yet another fine cluster of carved flowers. The chairs are supported by cabriole legs and casters. The back of each chair is laminated rosewood. We have offered many fine Belter & Meeks parlor sets over the years and to date this is the most elaborately carved and considered the rarest yet of our many offerings. References include the reference book, American Furniture of the 19th Century 1840 – 1880 by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 81, 109, andd 122 display some fine examples of the Belter Fountain Elms patter. Regency Rococo Victorian Laminated Rosewood Serpentine Sofa / Couch Circa 1840′s. We are proud to offer an extremely nice estate furniture. It is simple, elegant, and classic all rolled into one. Classically styled American Victorian Rosewood Furniture. Beautifully styled early American Victorian furniture. Wood grain of the Rosewood is beautiful. Middle top crest is a shell in between 2 finely carved flowers. The front skirt is a heavily serpentine design. The arm fronts and feet are heavily carved. Re-upholstered in the 1990s with a button tuck back. Has a spring floral tapestry fabric. Manufactured approximately in the 1840′s as a link between the Regency and Rococo Revival styles. Back height is about 33 3/8 inch. Width is about 82 inch. Depth is about 28 1/4 inch. Seat height is about 17 1/2 inch. Interior seat width is about 63 1/2 inch and depth is about 21 3/4 inch. Wood finish has been restored and is in good condition. Fabric is in very good condition. We are pricing it assuming that you may want to re-upholster it in a more period appropriate textile. Has lived in a barely used living room since prior restoration. There are reflections in the photographs. Don’t miss out on this really wonderful item! RARE LAMINATED ROSEWOOD JOHN HENRY BELTER ROCOCO REVIVAL SETTEE IN THE SCROLL PATTERN CIRCA 1860′s. The matching pair of Belter meridennes are in a separate listing of mine and yes they would look wonderful with this settee. Size: 65″ wide x 35″ high x 20″ deep at deepest point x 15″ from the floor to the top of seat. This is a fabulous piece of furniture. Very good condition with decent fabric. The rosewood is nicely figured. The scroll design is extremely elegant. There are a few old repairs to the scroll work as showing the most obvious repair. This is not unusual on a 160 year old piece. Notice the fine detail. Very comfortable and fitting to the body. Belter was the best of his “period”. This type of furniture was seen in the most exclusive parlor room in the home.
