Here is a wonderful bench, solid quartersawn oak, carved dolphins or fish, the finish is very dry, there are areas on the legs that have wear, this is a as is project listed until we have time to finish it ourselves, this needs sanding stained or painted, some natural seperation on the seat, there is one repair to a spindle that was broken at one point, overall its a very good piece worth saving! Done in a shop and nice its easily 1500 this one we are opening the door to somoene getting this very cheap! Our loss is your gain!

The settee has a three splat back with graceful scrollings at the top and a nice serpentine crest rail that accentuates the fluidity of the overall design. The front legs have carved lion paw feet which were well executed, but not an overly ambitious design.

Up for sale is this hard to find complete attribuate to R J Horner mahogany parlor set with griffin heads and original finish. This set is 120 years old so not new and need some works on some pieces but nothing major. The rocking chair is strong and have a wood split in seat and missing the original piece that go between the seat and back , i do have a new piece that you have to put in place , real good carving job. The small trone need to be reglue and have some missing venner on seat edge. The large trone will need to be reglue in the future , can be use as is with no problem. We are Alexanders Vault Antiques. Well they dont get much better than this! This is one of the top models karpen brothers of Chicago would have produced during the height of their production. In the 1890s karpen was the worlds leading upholstered furniture company. Karpen made many different variations of parlor sets. In past years a lot of them got falsely attributed as R J Horner of New York. These days karpen has emerged as a household name for top collectors. This set is priced to sell, feel free to ask any questions. The lady spent a small Fortune having it upholstered a couple years ago in Manhattan, NY. They are all very comfortable. Fabric is in pristine condition and the springs are perfect. The wood is a Beautiful original mahogany finish. The Perfect color tone in my opinion. Condition- The arms on the sofa and settee have some repairs shown in the last photos. They are all structurally solid. The wood is original so it has some bumps and bruises. Over 125 years old! 5 inch of the top of the shell carving missing on the crest of the settee and armchair. I could have this crest carving repaired but may take a few weeks to work into repairs shops schedule. Sofa 60in wide x 41 tall. Arm chair 41 tall x 32 wide x 32 deep.
