Schumacher Custom French Louis XVI Style Chaise Long; Light Fruitwood Finish. Elegant French Louis XVI chaise by “to the trade only” Schumacher Furniture. The head of the piece is scrolled, and there is a partial back that rolls down and ends towards the foot. A separate, removable cushion is buttoned and has cord trim. The fabric is a woven cotton with a embroidered motif. The frame is made of carved and turned hardwood, and finished in a light fruitwood color. The frame is structurally perfect and mint. The fabric shows no use – however, there is some minor damage to the fabric is three spots; on the lower left front, and in the front and back corners of the panel at the head of the piece (very minor). We’ve photographed all three areas. It is just fine in its current condition, or an excellent candidate for re-upholstery. Out of a North Shore estate from Chicago with high end designer pieces. Measurements: 66″ long, 39.5″ tall and 28 wide. The cushion is 51.5″ long and 22″ wide – 27.5 wide at the foot where it widens past the back. The seat is 21 high to the top of the cushion.
