SPLENDID VICTORIAN J & JW MEEKS STANTON HALL LAMINATED ROSEWOOD FULL 9 PCS PARLOR SET. Attributed with confidence & references to the very fine workshop of J & JW Meeks, NYC, circa 1860′s. It is our pleasure to present this Beautiful Victorian Rococo Laminated Rosewood J & JW Meeks full 9 pcs Stanton Hall Parlor Set. This set is so named after the namesake set at THE STANTON HALL MANSION in Natchez, Mississippi. This Fabulous Meeks Stanton Hall patten parlor set consists of a fine Sofa, a pair of wonderful armchairs, an attractive set of 4 side chairs, and a rare pair of accent chairs. This outstanding 9 pcs parlor set is presented in professionally restored and recently upholstered condition. The Armchair, Side Chairs, and Slipper Chairs feature laminated rosewood backs while the Sofa has material on the reverse side. Features include floral carved cartouches amidst open scrolling, reticulated foliate and grape carvings, serpentine seats, cabriole legs, and all raised on casters. Like Meeks Stanton Hall pieces can be found in the Reference book, Furniture of the 19th Century by Richard & Eileen Dubrow, pages 99, 100, 112, and 118. Antique 17th Century Venetian Walnut Palatial Settle Hall Bench w/Custom Cushion. Carved details all around and rolled arms. This unit is sturdy, sound and useable, however, it has very old loose areas at the arm connections at front that do not affect use. These can be left alone or restored. The back is somewhat delicate and at a deep slant as designed and best used with additional pillows. This is a rare and wonderful piece of furniture to be sure and has patina and warm wear as expected with a 400 year old piece. See photos for details. Featuring embossed Alligator pattern genuine leather, and a heavy cotton fabric seat filled with down and foam for maximum comfort without sagging. Approximate Measurements in Inches. 32 high at back. 42 deep (back to front). 32 high at arms. 19 high at seat. 26″ deep x 83″ wide inside seat. In structurally sound and sturdy condition with some spots of wear as shown. No punctures or cuts on leather. The cushion is reversible and there is some fraying on the underside of it.
