Wonderful MARGE CARSON Asian Chinoiserie Brocade Pattern Solid Wood Sofa with Ottoman. Featuring solid wood construction, high density comfortable foam surrounded by down feathers cushions. Brocade pattern fabric, and locking clasps to hold the bottom cushion in place. And is also great for falling asleep on as a day bed or as a guest bed. We also have an one more exact matching sofa without an ottoman listed separately. Approximate Measurements in Inches. 96 wide at arms. 91.5 wide x 35 deep inside seat which makes for a very comfortable bed. 27 high at arms. 18.5 high at seat. 47 deep back to front. 47″ wide x 35″ deep x 17.5 high. In good structurally sound and sturdy condition. There is no notable damage to the sofa except 2 stains on the underside of the bottom cushion. There are some faint stains on the ottoman which are visible upon close inspection in outdoor light but hard to see in normal indoor light. We have not tried to remove them. This leading Chicago department store originated with a business founded in Amboy, Illinois, in 1854 by Samuel Carson and John T. Pirie, two Scotch-Irish immigrants. In 1890, the entry of Robert Scott as a partner led the growing firm to change its name to Carson Pirie Scott & Co. By 1900, its two downtown Chicago stores on State and Washington and Franklin and Adams each employed about 1,000 men and women. In 1904, the company moved into a new Louis Sullivandesigned building at State and Madison. In 1989, Carson Pirie Scott was bought by P. A Milwaukee-based subsidiary of a Swiss company. After going through bankruptcy in 1991, this department store chain reemerged as Carson Pirie Scott & Co; but this entity was acquired in 1997 by Proffitt’s Inc. At the end of the century, Carson’s was still the name of several department stores around the Midwest, including the Sullivan-designed flagship store on State Street. Long Low, fully restored, newly upholstered light silver/gray tweed mid century modern Adrian Pearsall gondola sofa. This very unique atomic design has the lines, shape and styles reminiscent of a time period when Cadillac’s had tail fins. The angled armrests flare out to spread more room on its already spacious 4 seater span. Modern traditional Adrian Pearsall designed v-legs create a low floating stance, as the slightly pitched back center support add quite a lounge area for plenty. Beautiful trimmed walnut face creates a natural feel as the very soft light grey steel tweed wraps the upholstered pieces, not only provide exquisite comfort, it is a focal point center piece that shows as well as it does set. A quality mid century modern piece that has been restored from bottom up, brought back to new condition, complimenting it’s beauty, from a designer know for forward thinking. Measures – 102″ wide x 34″ deep x 15″ seat height x 27″ seat back. Condition – beautifully reupholstered in a platinum light grey silver specks neutral tweed. The frame has been tightened, the foam was replaced, the zig zag springs have been retightened and lined. The main framework was tightened before reupholstering. The walnut legs and walnut face have been touched up and re-stained. This sofa has been brought back to a new like condition. A rare find done tastefully in a modern feel. Winter Park, Fl 32789.
