Vintage Modern & Design. Rare French Louis XVI Carved Walnut Caned Duchess Brisee 3 PC Chaise Daybed. This is a fantastic and very rare cane duchess brisee. The piece is from the 1920s and has an incredible amount of charm and elegance? The piece is over 100 years old and will have subtle and minor signs of wear and maybe even a few minor damages to some areas of cane. But overall this is absolutely spectactular! One chair measures 44″ h x 27″ w x 28 d. Other chair measures 30 1/4″ h x 20 3/4″ w x 23 d. One measures 14″ H x 30 3/8″ W x 22 7/8 D. Seat height 15 1/2. READ ABOUT OUR GALLERY. LOUIS XV CARVED BEECH DUCHESSE BRISéE IN TWO PARTS. Circa last quarter of the 19th century Item # 909PNX19A. Delightfully worn and aged, this gorgeous chaise longue in two-parts is coined a “Duchesse Brisée”, a form that offers flexibility in design and positioning as either piece can stand alone or be positioned as intended. Crafted during the last quarter of the 19th century, the solid beech surface shows traces of the original gilding in the worn carvings and rubbed frame. It retains an early caning that remarkably has survived with minimal break or loss, the cane silky and dark from years of rubbing and oxidizing. These are difficult to find, particularly in this fine worn surface and Provincial form. It is an exquisite acquisition for the traditional French interior. 32″ D x 69″ L x 37″ H, seat height 11 1/4″; individual lengths 37 1/2″ and 31 1/2″. Condition Report: Very minor breaks in caning, overall remaining in very good condition. Extensive surface wear, inactive pest damage, chipping and loss. Old stable cracks in crest rail. Antique French Louis XV Style Duchesse Brisèe, Chaise Longue, Chair/Ottoman

Nineteenth Century French Duchesse Brisée with two-tone painted carved frame and cabriole legs. Both pieces were completely reupholstered by a master craftsman using old-world methods such as horse hair padding and gusseted edges on back of chair and sides of ottoman. Cushions are pocketed down-wrapped polyfoam. Primary Upholstery fabric is 100% plain weave scrubbed linen in a stone color. French back is dupioni silk in medium neutral color. Small bolster is not attached. Double-welt trim is on both pieces. Wood frame has beautiful wear patterns and pieces show good care was given them during their long life. Overall condition and wear is consistent with age. Minor touch ups have been made to wood frame as needed without compromising the patina. There is a slight discoloration of the linen fabric on the deck of the ottoman and the chair deck (not visible when the cushions are in place). Aside from the discoloration, upholstery fabric is like new. Will gladly send more photos and answer any questions regarding the pieces. Seat Height: 18, 46cm. Area or I can help you find a transport service if you need the pieces delivered. You will have to contract with the transport service yourself (it’s easy). I’ll be glad to assist you in the process.
