This sofa is part of a fully restored three piece suite, the matching wingback armchair and and barrel back armchair are listed under my other items for sale. This piece has been extensively and sympathetically restored, the original colour stripped back slightly then hand dyed to this deep smokey brown colour, the frame lightly stripped stained and waxed, all in all the chair offers some wonderful patina throughout whilst being structurally perfect. This is an original hand dyed piece meaning it was upholstered using fully aniline russet leather, fully aniline leather is untreated so it shows the natural defects of the hide, this is the ideal leather type for vintage club chairs because it marks naturally which adds to the look and vintage feel of the piece. Russet leather is basically uncolored natural leather, this surprisingly is quite a bit more expensive than standard pre-dyed or treated leather. The sofa is a fully studded affair, as you may or may not know wing and barrel back sofas start with a studded back, the next model up has studded arms and then the next up again on the king and queens chairs studded wings, finally the top model has a studded base.
