17732 Chinese Chippendale Camel Back Sofa

We are pleased to be offering today this Chinese Chippendale camel back sofa that dates from the 1950s era I believe. It came out of a local estate. The fabric is usable in a dark plum color but could probably use a shampoo. It has a foam cushion seat for comfort. I cant tell if the fabric is old or if it is supposed to have this sheen to it. It almost looks faded at certain angles, but fine at others. It has the Chinese carved Chippendale legs and cross stretcher on the base. It has the typical rolled arms with the brass beading. The overall size is 84 inches wide, 26 inches deep on the seat, 38 inches high to the sofa back, 28 inches high on the arms and 21 inches high to the seat. 17732 Chinese Chippendale Camel Back Sofa. Red Velvet Antique Couch and Chair; Kidney Shaped. Set has been re-upholstered, still has springs inside. No tears or rips in upholstery. Slight damage on the couch decorative ribbon trim as indicated in close up photo. The front of the couch backrest show velvet imperfections. Light has an effect on how much the velvet imperfections will show. The back of the chair is a slightly different material than the rest of the upholstery. The couch & chair are the same color, however depending on the light it sometimes looks purple or pinkish. Hopefully you can tell that by the pictures shown. Beautiful flower carving woodwork. Underneath seat cushions, couch & chair are clean, no stains or tears(as shown in picture of chair). Approximate Measurements: Couch 84″ wide by 40″ depth, Chair 33″ wide by 36″ depth. John Jelliff Renaissance Revival Sofa

Victorian John Jelliff Renaissance Revival walnut and burl wood sofa. Last quarter of 19th century. With the rare and highly sought after carved helmeted knights or soldiers on each arm and Jenny Lind in the center crest. This design is extremely difficult to find. Covered in a light blue velvet upholstery with original wooden wheels. Also retains the fabric bumper behind the crest. An overall incredible find in this very rare design. Length: 81.5 inches (207 cm). Width: 31.5 inches (80 cm). Height: 46.5 inches (118 cm). Condition: Wood is in great condition with a soft medium brown color. But bear in mind this piece is nearly 125-150 years old and does have some commensurate wear. The springs are tight but the upholstery does show some dirt spots on the seat. A rather impressive two-seater sofa from the Napoleon III period. The wooden frame is exposed on the arms, back and legs to offer a country house look. The rear two legs take an enchanting inverted bow shape, as all four legs sit on their original casters. The wood has aged to create a wonderful patina which gives the frame a golden-brown complexion. The frame is in very good antique condition, still very solid, with nominal impression marks to the outer edges, as to be expected with a piece of its age. This is a beautiful antique French Louis XVI sofa. The frame has its authentic golden colour with darker accents and details. It was hand-carved and decorated in beech wood, and is very sturdy and ready for every-day usage. Cushions are filled very nicely for comfortable seating. It has been furnished by very specialized people. This beautiful item can be used in a hallway, in the bedroom, in a living room, anywhere it will form the highlight and eye-catcher of the room. The decorative carving work was all done hand-made and looks very nicely detailed.
