Early 1800s Empire Federal Flame Mahogany Long Bench Couch Sofa 9808. This gorgeous Bench / Sofa is made of wood, solid wood, solid mahogany wood, flame mahogany veneer, brass, and fabric, and is in good condition. This impressive Bench was made in the Early 1800′s and is a wonderful example of the Empire or Federal American furniture styles; it features a classic silhouette, very interesting hand carved details with a shell motif on the arms, and a lovely red/brown mahogany finish to the wood that is brilliantly accented by the grain of the flame mahogany veneer. The brass wheels allow for simple maneuvering of the piece. The piece was re-upholstered some time over the years and the fabric is in fairly good condition, we would recommend to have the piece professionally cleaned or re-upholstered, please ask us for a quote on re-upholstery if you are interested. There were some minor professional touch-ups and repairs made to the piece, see pictures, however this does not detract from the beauty or utility of the piece. The condition of this Bench is secure and sturdy, there are some aging imperfections/scratches/touch ups due to its age and as part of its wear and tear, see pictures.
