Empire Antique 1830 Sofa, Rope Carved Mahogany, Recent Gray Velvet #29010. An authentic Empire period sofa from about 1830 was hand carved of solid mahogany with a rope or barley twist design. Recent upholstery is silky soft velvet, and includes matching bolsters. There are minor scuffs and spots that are difficult to see on the “changeable” velvet. The old finish is in very fine condition on this American made antique furniture. Cast solid brass wheels and paw feet are original. The frame is tight and strong, springs are comfortable. One rear leg is angled as shown, but very secure. Measurements are 87″ long, 25″ deep, 35″ tall and the seat is 19″ high. Please view 22 photos at full screen size for best detail.
