This is one of the finest of the box sofa forms, with finely detailed ormulo mounts, at the ends of each sofa column. This sofa makes a very strong statement, and the beautifully carved acanthus feet above reeded melon bulbs on castors. The mahogany is beautifully figured, and there are no repairs or alterations. This is a classic example of the best of New York work during the period of which the Phyfe school derives its fame and recognition. Height: 33 1/2 in.
