Offered for your consideration is a wonderful American Victorian/Eastlake Style settee with matching side chair. Both of the settee and the side chair feature cushioned blue velvet upholstery, geometric relief carvings with inlaid burled walnut panels, and turned and tapered baluster legs. Both pieces have been seeing by a restorer at some point in their history. The cornice of the settee displays an urn style floral design framed by burled walnut insets and thick scrolls. Ogee edged corner fan molding frames the velvet cushioned seat backs, while the gently curving button tufted armrests are lined with both silky braided ribbons and serpentine trim. The walnut frame beneath the upholstered armrests features rectangular patterned relief carving, and the same modified Greek key with carved tassel accents centerpiece design that is found on the cornice of the side chair.
