Get Vendio Gallery – Now FREE! Vintage Kittinger Camel-Back Sofa, Mahogany Legs; Lampas Style Fabric. Vintage 1970′s Kittinger Furniture Chippendale style camel back sofa with dramatic rolled arms. Set on a base of six mahogany legs and stretchers, with the “Kittinger” name stamped on the inside of the rear right leg. The three front legs are fluted and taper down to a narrow foot. The rear legs are angled outward. The fabric is a pale gold lampas, with floral sprays and is very representative of what the well-to-do could afford in the late 18th century. Kittinger label underneath the cushion, which is upholstered on both sides and is reversible. It also has the Kittinger tag with the union made mark, as well as the structural contents of the piece. You know it’s quality as it contains hair and down. In excellent vintage condtion. The cushion, and sofa “guts” are all very solid and without any issue. The mahogany is 90% or better – the only visible issues are a very small chip on the front right leg (please see photos) and some scuffing on the backside of the rear left leg. There are a couple of vacuum cleaner marks, but you have to get down on your hands and knees to even begin to see them. The fabric has some very minor fading to the forward-facing side of the back, and some very light wear to the front of the arms. There are a few water stains – one on the front under the cushion, and one on one side of the cushion. There is a water stain underneath the cushion – it runs along the base where the cushion meets the seat – obviously it is covered by the cushion. For all that, it reads as clean, solid and elegant. Measurements: 82 long from outside arm to outside arm. 36 tall at center back. The base is 69 wide from leg to leg. The seat is 62″ long, and 21″ deep.
